Over the course of her career in the non-profit sector, Christine Charnock has focused on listening to members and stakeholders, facilitating connections and partnerships, and growing organizations through communication, innovation, and program development.
Christine spent over 20 years leading the Canadian Rheumatology Association and building a community, where she was involved in all aspects of the association, including member and volunteer engagement, strategic planning, partnerships and collaboration, advocacy, program development, communication, fundraising, and conference planning. She left there in search of another challenge and learning opportunity.
She has immersed herself in the start-up world, networking with a variety of people and learning about different industries through her involvement with some female investment groups. Christine is also an instructor in a non-profit leadership management program.
She describes her new role as CEO – Chief Excitement Officer – the main job of a CEO is to get people excited about the work of an organization).
Christine has recently entered the realm of acting in community theatre and is back skating with her former synchronizing skating team. She thinks of her superpower as connecting people. An active member of her community, Christine has extensive experience as a board member, committee member, and volunteer in the community. She is a wife and proud mom of 3 grown children.
Christine is excited to lead the association into the next iteration of growth, innovation, and excellence.
