Dr. Cecilia de Martino, ND was born in Montreal and was fortunate to have lived in the Philippines and Germany. While in Germany she became fluent in German and her frequent visits to family in Italy allowed her to master the Italian language as well. Once back in Canada, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Technology in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Guelph. After having worked in the lab of pharmaceutical companies she realized this wasn’t the path for her. She knew she wanted to be in health care and after seeing how naturopathic medicine helped her mother when no other doctor could, she was intrigued. Her career as a Naturopathic Doctor in Waterloo has been very fulfilling. She has two children and a very supportive husband. Her practice focuses on women’s health, detoxification, genetic interpretation, mental health and energy work.
As a board member her goal is to bring the profession together, to both preserve our fundamental naturopathic roots and values as well as expand our scope of practice to better serve our patients. She wants members to be proud that the OAND supports and represents them.
