Destiny Spurrell is a third year student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). She is currently serving the students as the Naturopathic Student’s Association representative to the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND). Destiny graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo after completing her BScKIN. She obtained her Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from The Michener Institute for Applied Health Science and practiced at Hamilton General prior to commencing studies at CCNM.

While studying Respiratory Therapy she completed original research on Perceived Dyspnea in Relation to Airway Caliber through the Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health, Hamilton. During her practice as a Respiratory Therapist, Destiny volunteered for Clarity Research Team in areas of acute respiratory distress syndrome and high frequency oscillation, assisting in the poster presentation at the annual American Thoracic Society Conference. Along with her studies, Destiny’s current interest lies in the social and political landscape of Naturopathic Medicine as it relates to practice. She is passionate about connecting students with their resources that lie outside the walls of CCNM, and nurturing the enthusiasm that first catalyzed their entry into the field of Naturopathic Medicine.
